The StartMenuExperienceHost.exe process crashed.

Dear Community,

I keep getting this error when I run my tests - "The StartMenuExperienceHost.exe process crashed.".  Another team member gets "The ADPClientService.exe process crashed."

Has anyone seen this error?  How did you overcome it?

    There is a lengthy thread on Microsoft's forums about StartMenuExperienceHost.exe crashing.  Some of the users also indicated they weren't even using the start menu at the time.  Many are pointing their finger at a recent Windows update as the culprit.  The MS rep suggested uninstalling the update and/or doing a repair to fix it.

    The first error is relating to the start menu of your operating system, and the second is relating to Autodesk software.

    Unfortunately, I don't know why they would crash. It's very unlikely that TC will cause an application to crash though!

  • Am not accessing StartMenuExperienceHost.exe in my Test. So it's strange that TestComplete is reporting a crash related to it in the log.

    I have the same error "StartMenuExperienceHost.exe process crushed." while my test was running. It isn't reproduceable error. And I'm also not using this process in my tests.
