Onscreen Object Selector Slowness

Hey guys!

Just some quick context: I recently updated Test Complete to version 15.70.4.7 (from version 15.51.30).  I'm scouting out the new version before the rest of my coworkers also update.

One major difference I'm noticing is how slow it is to pick an onscreen object for a script routine being called in a keyword test.  There might have been some slowness here before I updated, but certainly not to this degree.

I'll include a link to a loom video below showing the issue.  In the video, you'll see me use the object spy tool and point to an object on screen without any issues.  Then you'll see me go into a button click routine in my keyword test, and use the object selector to point to the same object I pointed to earlier with the object spy tool, except it will take significantly longer to do.  Sometimes Test Complete will crash while I'm waiting, but I was not able to capture this in the video.

This slows down my ability to automate drastically, and I was wondering if you guys know why this might be happening.

  • Check your browser version too. It could be a browser that's not supported yet rather than the upgrade that's causing the issue.
