Welcome TestComplete 9.30

Greetings Testers,

 

I’m happy to announce that we have just released the new TestComplete version – v. 9.30.



What’s new:

-          Support for two additional browsers – Opera and Safari - were added.

-          TestComplete now allows testing  JavaFx 2, Qt 5 apps and more.

-          Significant changes in the Name Mapping feature that allow you to create reliable tests much easier.

-          We have extended support for third-party controls: more supported Ext JS controls, support for the latest Telerik RadControls, Developer Express, Infragistic, etc control versions.

How to try:

You can request the TestComplete trial that provides you with all features of the commercial version.

Just fill in several fields of this form and enjoy testing!

 

How to update a commercial version:

If you are using a commercial TestComplete license with an active Maintenance subscription, the newest product version should be automatically added to your SmartBear account . Log in to the account, download the executable file, and run the installation process.



Note: if you are installing TestCompelte 9.30 on the computer where the license for TestComplete 9 (9.0, 9.10 or 9.20) is already activated, there is no need to deactivate the current license! TestComplete 9.30 will work with it.

    8.x licenses do not work with TC 9.x

    You need new licenses to upgrade.

    If you are on maintenance your account is automatically upgraded.

    If you are not on maintenance, you will need to purchase maintenance to get access to the latest TestComplete.



    Thanks for being a long term customer - 8.2 was a fair bit of time ago!

    Hi Tanya,



    Can I upgrade my TestComplete 8.2 to 9.3 without any other additional  licensing purchase.?

    If so, what will be the procedure.

    Hi,



    I've just upgraded to 9.30 and found that my tests are now failing. The problem seems to be finding a website Div which has its display property set to none. I want to validate this property but Test Complete doesn't seem to be able to see the div. This validation worked previously but hasn't since the upgrade.

    Hi there,



    I've updated TestComplet (in a virtual machine) from V9.20 to V9.30 and installation has brought an error:



    SmartBear TestComplete 9 - InstallShield Wizard

      An unknown error occured when installing the Sentinel HASP License Manager.

      Please contact SmartBear Support Team.



    This error was already reported - but there is still no solution available.

    I guess that you get this error at the end of the installation process, right? As you update the TestComplete version, you may miss this error - the licensing system was already installed on the computer with TC 9.20. The new TC version just updates the current HASP version, but this process failed for some reason. The Support Team will help you find out the reason for this. However, I think that you can miss this error and continue using TestComplete as it doesn't affect product's main feature.

    We are using TestComplete 8.70 and we want to be upgrate it into TestComplete 9.3, I want same additional information about it.



    1- shall we need to purches new licnce for 9.3 or we can upgrate our older TestComplete 8.7 licnce into TestComplete 9.3.



    2- Is it support IE 10 and 11 ?



    3- What are the addtional features are available in TestComplete 9.3.



    Please help us .

    This depends on whether you have active Maintenance subscription or not. If you do, then the latest version of TC should be available to you on the client portal (https://my.smartbear.com). If you don't, then you'd better contact Sales (sales@smartbear.com) and ask them.
