Property checkpoints in web testing
Quick question, can I use Property checkpoints to check the contents of a textbox. when I try this I get an error. thecheckpoint is showing that it is checking thestrid propertyfor " ". I expected it to check the contentText or InnerText property. Any ideas??? Thanks, Mike9.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: Patch for FireFox 18
As a note to SmartBear, when one is checking the FireFox patch page for new patches It would be helpful to include a note that the current version of TestComplete now contains the FireFox 18 patch. This would eliminate the confusion as to why there is no listing for a Firefox 18 patch on your FireFox Patch Page. Thanks, Mike881Views1like0CommentsRe: Patch for FireFox 18
Tanya, Thanks for the reply. However, for the problem I was experiencing I could not get TC 9.2 to work properly (I was getting a VB runtime error 500 when single-stepping through code and returning tothe calling function, BTW, this error did not occur whenjust playing backthe code). So I guess the built in FF 18 patch worked for some things but not all. I ended up going back to TC 9.0.13XX and FireFox 15 patch before the issue was corrected and I stopped getting the VB runtime error 500s. Mike881Views0likes0Comments- 12KViews0likes5Comments
VB errors when returning from a function call.
Hello All, I am experiencing an odd issue I haven’t encountered before. As I am debugging my script by stepping through the code via F10, and my cursor is at the End Function line. When I press F10 I get an error pop up in my err.name counter. The code is 500 which Google says is a VB runtime error. However, the script doesn’t stop immediately. I have error checking setup in the code at different points which will stop the code run if any error was detected. The kicker is if I just run the script it doesn’t catch any error and the script doesn’t stop. I’m running VB for my language. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. My apologizes if this post occurs twice. The first time I tried to post the forum page closed so I had to repost it. Thanks, Mike11KViews0likes1Commentprogrammatic Question about checkpoints
I have been using checkpionts for some time now successfully. My question is, "Is there a way to check that a checkpoint is successful programmatically. I can see visually that the test passed in the test log via a green icon but I need to export the results to a text file where no one can see the green icon in the test log. Thanks for any help. Mike18KViews0likes2CommentsHow can I determine if a check box is checked or clear programatically.
I have an object that looks like a dialog box (see attached jpg)within it there are several columns and rows. With in the first column there is a checkbox on each row. I need to check if the checkbox is checked or not. However when I try and use the Object spy I can't select the check box, I can only select the outer dialog box. I've tried ising the object browser but it doesn't show the check boxes either. Any Ideas? Thanks, Mike19KViews0likes1CommentIs there a way to convert my Scripts back to TestComplete8
I noticed the message about converting my scripts to TC9 and once done the scripts could not be run on other down level versions of TestComplete. I am moving back to TestComplete 8 due to way to much lost development time trying to use TC9. Is there an official or non-official conversion tool to take me(my scripts) back to TC8? Having the upgrade path being one way I feel is a real BoneHeaded move. Surely SmartBear didn't do that. Did they never hear the old axiom, "Never do anything on a computer you can't undo if necessary". In any case any and all help is very welcome. Hello all, I have a project I have been writing scripts for since January of this year on TC8.7. All the scripts ran as expected until I installed TC9. When I installed TC9 and ran the scripts (without any chnages) I started seeing more "Object not found" errors in different places within my scripts and for no logicial reasons upon first look. Once I started trouble shooting I found thatI could put in an AQUtil.Delay of2 secondsand I was able to eliminate the issue, but finding exactly where to put the delay is time consuming. Pleasekeep in mind that tohe only thing that changed was TC9. It appears thatTC9 is running faster than my application and not waiting for windows to open. I did have the default wait time set in TC8. Does the configuration set in TC 8 not migrate to TC9 automatically? And if not, why not? This situation has played havoc with my deliverables schedule. Has anyone experienced this and if so were you able to get arround it. I have another developer in my department using TestComplete and he expereinced the same issue when he upgraded as well. Our machines and our code are not tied together in any way yet he has the same issue. BTW, I have already gone through the "Dealing with Playback issues" in the documantation. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike17KViews0likes10Comments
