How can we call an existing RestAPI call from a TestComplete Keyword Test? I know we can use the "Send Request" in Keyword Test, but then I have to manually type all the input. How can I say call ReadyAPI to run the "XYZ.xml ", a HTTP GET request with XYZ variables as HTTP body? Another requirement is run the RestAPI first, a Get HTTP request return some data, then use those data as variables to call a Keyword Test in TestComplete I am trying to figure out how to integrate both TestComplete and ReadyAPI together, from one to call another. Thank you for your advice. 🙂167Views0likes1CommentMerge Keyword Tests from different projects
Sorry I have to ask again, I saw some old posts from years ago, but I still not understand this. Why add existing keyword test only add the reference, not actual keyword test? What's the design purpose behind this? The only option is to manipulate the XML-like "keywordtest..tcKDT" file under "Keyword Tests" folder? So here's my problem, I have project 1 and project 2, both projects have some common keyword tests with exact same name. I need to use keyword test in project 1 as "baseline/ benchmark" to update the keyword test in project 2 So I need to "merge" the common keyword tests from two projects. But I can't put these 2 projects under same project suite in TestComplete, since TestComplete reject to have same keyword test file names under one project suite I can only think of manipulating theXML-like "keywordtest..tcKDT" file under "Keyword Tests" folder....... Any advice on this? Appreciated your input.130Views0likes1CommentRe: TestComplete Commandline with multiple variables
Thanks for the feedback, I have tried your version, but not working, so I have to twist a little bit to make it work. Why the powershell doesn't like the double quotes? I don't know, it just fails to read the value of variables.but hey at least finally I make it works now yay! Start-Process'C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartBear\TestComplete 15\Bin\TestComplete.exe'-ArgumentList"""$TestCompleteFilePath""/project:""$myTestProjectName""/test:""$myTestName"" /pv:$($arrayList[0])/pv:$($arrayList[1])/run "-Wait147Views0likes0CommentsTestComplete Commandline with multiple variables
What's the best way to pass multiple variables in Powershell to run TestComplete commandline $myVariables is a array list which has multiple variables like "XXX=123", "YYY=345", "ZZZ=567" So I assumed if you need multiple variables in command line, you just add multiple "/pv:xxx=123" Start-Process 'C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartBear\TestComplete 15\Bin\TestComplete.exe' -ArgumentList """$TestCompleteFilePath"" /project:""$myTestProjectName"" /test:""$myTestName"" /pv:""$myVariables[0]"" /pv:""$myVariables[1]"" /pv:""$myVariables[2]"" /run " -Wait303Views0likes6CommentsSearch/Highlight Variable in Keyword Testing
Hi there, When you have dozens of variables in a keyword testing, is there any way to search/highlight where is all the variables For example, If I change a variable name, I have to look into every single step of my keyword testing and make sure I also change the variable name. I am sure you can do that in script, but how about highlight every variables in Keyword Testing Same concept like Visual Studio search code, once I type in to search, it highlights all the matching keywords in code script.Solved223Views0likes1CommentRe: TestComplete run test in Azure pipeline successfully but no result
Yes and no. The test result trx file does exist, but it said "0/0 tests has been run". So I would think the test actually didn't get run. if it did run, then it supposed to said "2/2 test has been run"... or something like that.1.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: TestComplete run test in Azure pipeline successfully but no result
hi AlexKaras, thank you for your response, yes I can confirm the interactive user session is being used during the testing. It does run as part of the pipeline, we can see timestamp of agent is running, it just the actual test is not executed. I can manually run the test in the agent, and it runs fine. I can also use command line to execute "TestComplete.exe "E:\azagent-staging\_work\r1\a\_TCPipelineTest\drop\TestProject1\TestProject1.pjs" /r /p:TestProject1" please advice how to trouble shoot, thank you.1.2KViews0likes0Comments
