Can you post screenshots of your automation keyword test or paste the script code you're using? It would be helpful to see a bit more of what you're dealing with to know how best to answer you.
Something else to check is Chrome Browser version. Your virtual machine could have a more recent version of Chrome than your main machine. Chrome was recently updated to version 59 and there is a patch for Chrome for both TestComplete and TestExecute available via SmartBear. If you don't have that recent patch, you could run into object recognition issues.
