Testing Chinese characters

You need to set Chinese as the default language for non-Unicode programs (see the Setting the System Language From Scripts help topic).

im using Test complete 7.5 version. And i cant see LanguageForNonUnicodePrograms property available. Also i need to verify chinese characters while running scripts on english. So if i modify the language sysytem asks me to restart, once i restart again i need to run scripts manually?



I think while running scripts changing the language in middle will be huge risk for me? becasue i kick off teh scripts automatically on daily builds.



Can you please let me know if that property is available on TC7.58 version?

If you're using TC 7, change the default language for non-Unicode programs manually in your system's regional settings. This setting doesn't affect English characters, so, English tests will work as they should.

There's no 'TC 7.58'. The latest TC 7 version is 7.52.

Ok.. I'm using TC 7.52.(mistype , it was not 7.58)

This looks like we need to retasrt machine after changing the language.



Instead of that , can you please tell me how to change the keybaord language in VB script?



Im using Test complete 7.52 version. I tried with aqEnvironment.SetKeyboardLayout method for arabic language but it didnt work for me.



also can anyone please tell me where can i get teh keyboard input layout codes?

Im using something liek this to change the keyboard language:



sub test1



arabiclayout = "ASMO 663"

Set edit = aliases.notepad.wndnotepad.edit

Call aqEnvironment.SetKeyboardLayout(Sys.process("notepad").Id,arabiclayout)

Call edit.keys(hh)

end sub



so this procedure should chnge keyboard layout  to arabic then type something into notepad(when pressing any keys it should type arabic characters)



but looks liek this is not working.

Read the aqEnvironment.SetKeyboardLayout help topic carefully. You should use hexadecimal locale IDs (I posted a link to them in my previous post).

I am experiencing the same issue:



Summary of steps:



Working on WIN7 64 bit OS and have some file with Chienese / Japanese character names. I have made a routine to read the file name and store in a array in ODT.



Whenever I am done with reading the file names and I see (??) instead of chienese / japanese character in file names.



I have studied the support link mentioning changing script character encoding to UTF-16 and changing system language to chienese or japenese. But didn't help in my case.
