  • Hello Egor,

I suggest that you use this web form to open a support ticket and inform our Support Team about your performance problems and problems with your application under test. We would also appreciate it if you sent us the application under test or a sample application we could use to reproduce the problem.

If sending us the application is not possible, please provide us with the following information:

    1. What operating system are you using? Do the problems you describe occur on other operating systems?

    2. Is .NET Framework 4 installed on your computer? What .NET Framework version is the application under test compiled for?

    3. Does your application under test contain only managed code, or does it use unmanaged code to implement UI elements?

    4. What do you mean by saying that the application is shown as not Open? Does TestComplete provide access to the application's internals in the Object Browser? Are the controls not recognized during test recording or playback?

    5. Does the issue with the application openness occur when you launch your application under test before or after you launch TestComplete?

When the issue with the application openness occurs again, please do the following:

    1. Obtain the list of modules loaded to your application under test (you can do it with the Process Explorer) and send it to us.

    2. In the Object Browser, expand your application’s process node.

    3. Make a screenshot of your application process node in the Object Browser and send it to us.

    4. Right-click the application’s process node and select Refresh from the context menu.

    5. Make another screenshot of your application’s process node in the Object Browser and send it to us.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Julia,

Sorry, i have no possibility to send you an application but i can provide you information on above mentioned questions:

    1. What operating system are you using? Do the problems you describe occur on other operating systems?

I'm using windows 7(64bit). No, the problems have never occur,in addition everything worked properly on previous version TC 8.7

    2. Is .NET Framework 4 installed on your computer? What .NET Framework version is the application under test compiled for?

Yes, .NET Framework 4 installed on our computer. This .Net framework version is necessary for work with our application.

    3. Does your application under test contain only managed code, or does it use unmanaged code to implement UI elements?

    Only managed code

    4. What do you mean by saying that the application is shown as not Open? Does TestComplete provide access to the application's internals in the Object Browser? Are the controls not recognized during test recording or playback?

Yes you're right, sometimes when i open application, the icon-OpenAppliction is not shown right on the process.TestComplete does not provide access to the application's internals in the Object Browser. I don't know what it depends on.

    5. Does the issue with the application openness occur when you launch your application under test before or after you launch TestComplete?

As i remember it occurs after launching TestComplete, there are could be another cases though .

When the issue with the application openness occurs again, please do the following:

I will send you all necessary information ASAP.

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

    Egor

  • Hello Egor,

    Thank you for the information.

Unfortunately, this information appears to be not enough for us to determine the cause of the problem. So, we look forward to getting screenshots of the Object Browser with your application's internals exposed.

If you have already sent the screenshots to our Support Team, could you please tell me the ticket number specified in the auto-reply message you got after submitting the request? This will help me make sure that we have received your request.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Julia,

Unfortunately, i'm not able to send screenshots to you now, because i've encountered with issues that have took a lot of time  to be investigated and didn't allow to proceed testing.

I rolled back to previous version TC 8.70 , now it works fine.

I'll try to reproduce this issue on next TC version and will give you  notice if  this issue appears.

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards,

    Egor
