TestComplete 10 and CollabNet Subversion Client

We evaluated TestComplete 9.31 last year to see if we can replace our current software automation tool.

One of the things we looked at was the source control in TestComplete.  I followed the instructions and installed the CollabNet Subversion Client on the two machines we used during the automation and without any problems the source control was working.

Since then we purchased the product for all our TA's and upgraded to TestComplete 10.  The two computers that was used during the evaluation is still able to access our svn repository without problems, however any new TestComplete 10 installation on another machine combined with the CollabNet Subversion Client does not work.

When you select File | Source Control > Open From Source Control... the Select SCC Provider dialog box is empty.

I have tried all kinds of versions of the client and changed the order in which I install the products but nothing seems to work.  I also tried it on different computers.

This is very strange as we have two TestComplete 10 installations working without problems.

Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated.

    Hi Tanya,

I have performed modify installation (by navigating to Windows's Configuration Screen > Add/ Remove programs > TestComplete 10 > Modify

but unfortunately I cannot select any SVN extension to be installed.

Also, after this procedure, the "Select SCC Provider" remains empty...

I have installed Subversion 1.7.9 on my system.

What am I missing? Are there any other precautions I have to take to let this work?

    Hi Mathijs.

I installed the CollabNet Subversion client from here: http://www.collab.net/downloads/subversion

Like I mentioned before the modify option on the installation did not solve my problem and I had to do a complete re-installation.  The only part that did work was that I did not need to deactivate and activate the license again.  This saved a lot of time.

For any new installation I now do the subversion client first and then install TestComplete and I have yet to see this problem since then.

I have also experimented with a number of the available client versions: 1.623,1.7.14 and this problem accurred with all of them.  Only a reinstalled fixed the issue.

Also as mentioned before you have to select the 32-bit verion of the client.

    @ Jannie,

    thanks for the feedback.

Indeed, a complete uninstall and re-installation of TC10 solved the issue.

SCC Provider selection window displays SVN-plugin.

I have Subversion 1.7.9 installed. According to the help file, this is the latest edition supported. I noticed you have version 1.8.5 installed, do you encounter any errors because of non supporting functionalities?
