Integrating Subversion with TestComplete

Hi

I'm new to the whole source control idea, but now that we have a second tester on board, I thought I'd give it a go...

I've installed the Subversion client (Windows 1.8.1 32-bit). and it is configured to for use with a URL pointing to one of our servers.  The projects we are working on ar located on a remote PC, which is basically a shared folder on that PC so we can both access the projects. We are using TestComplete 9.3 Enterprise Edition.

Basically, the subversion client is installed and seems to be working with TC in that it can be seen and, apparently, used, but it keeps throwing up all sorts of errors in relation to files not being able to be checked in, or altready checked out, etc.

I couldn't find any of the earlier versions of Subversion, as specified in the help documentation, so this might just be my problem!!

Does anyone know if this is due to the Subversion version I am using and if so, is there a patch that will enable the correct use of it?  I would be very grateful for any assistance that anyone can offer.

Regards

Stephen.
  • Hey Stephen,

Just a couple of advice. If you are trying to view sub version files from TestComplete, then it may have some issues.

Try installing a client of sub version like Tortoise SVN and do the checkin-checkout operations via Tortoise SVN.

It is much more hassle free and works faster.

We are using the same with no issue so far...touchwood :-)

    Thanks,
    Shrirang
