Suggestions/How to implement "Fire & Forget" tests

On test workstations, with the Application Under Test & TestComplete running, we often run out of resources, resulting in erratic behavior and test aborts.  I have tried creating .bat files to execute tests singly, and then restart the application and a new TestComplete session as well.



This has had occasional success, but more often the application just hangs while TestComplete continues, silently recording all those failures.



Surely others have expereinced this desire to start the tests and then walk away until the morrow.



Are there any suggestions or lessons learned about how to accomplish implementing "Fire & Forget" tests?

    1) First item is already requested and is in the approval process.
