Smartclient 8.0

Hi there

is Smartbear compatible with the above application (plan vanilla, not GWT version)

We looked at Selenium and it was brittle, we got QTP working with it but it's heavy

    I tried to record several simple actions with the sample http://smartclient.com/#editByRow using TestComplete 8.70. When I played back the recorded script I faced no problems.

    Though it does not mean that you will have no problems with the real application I recomment to try TestComplete.

    Did you tried TestComplete trial against your application already? If yes, then what problems did you face? From my experience you can first try recording the test using default project settings, then if the test will not be reliable enough, then you can try writing test manually using Find, QuerySelector or other method to find web objects: http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/33217/

    did not try it yet - just wanted to get a straight answer to teh question from someone familiar with smartclient.

    to be honest, we're tired of trying tools that don't quite get it on smart client and we're now asking the question first :)
