McAfee antivirus effect on TestComplete run

Hello,



We've recently installed TestComplete 8 in one of the servers in our farm which has a McAfee antivirus installed. Upon running a test script, once InternetExplorer is launched, after a second or so it was automatically closed. Upon tweaking everything, the team have found out that in McAfee is closing the browser. For a workaround we've disabled the Firewall and Intrusion Prevention of the antivirus engine and now it worked. IE is no longer being closed during start of execution.



Is there another way / patch for this? This shouldn't be the case because in TestComplete 7, it's working fine with the McAfee antivirus settings.

    Hi Paul,


    Most likely, it is an issue of the antivirus program. So, I recommend that you install the latest version of the McAfee antivirus and try again. If the problem remains, please contact our Support Team and send them:

    1. The version of the antivirus you're using.

    2. The version of the databases installed on your machine.


    This information will help them reproduce the problem you described and find the solution faster.
