Firefox 29 not recognized as a browser in TC
Whey guys, just updated firefox to version 29, TC stopped recognizing it as a browser.
Any hints?

- I have more problems with Chrome than anything else.
At least with FireFox, turning off auto-update is easy.
With Chrome, it's not. I've installed the group policy cert and disabled averything in there. I've also disabled the auto-update plugin through the browser plugin interface. And yet the damn thing STILL manages to auto-upadate itself from time to time.
Which is compounded by legacy installers being so hard to find.
Now I download the offline installer each time it updates and keep a copy of it ....

Our R&D team has access to many resources. However, as far as I know, in the past, there were many situations when everything worked fine in the beta browser version, but the official version completely broke our support. So, it's impossible to predict how the official browser version will work with TestComplete before it's released :(
For web testers, it's recommended that they control the test environment, they need to avoid spontaneous automatic updates and to move to the new browser version only after getting the official patch for TestComplete.

I wish someone would tell this to the people at Google. Would make controlling Chrome a whole lot easier. The only way I have found to absolutely 100% guarantee it won't find a way to update itself is to run it on a computer with no external network access .... - Hadn't seen that particular registry suggestion before. I'll give it a go.
Ditto the services. Hadn't found anything suggesting those up until now. Will also switch those off.
The point stands though. Why not:
a) Have a simple "auto/manual/off" selector for updates in the settings somewhere. Like everyone else does.
b) Make legacy versions available. Especially given how awkward they make it to stop the damn thing updating itself.

I'm wondering if somebody is trying to use special browser versions for organizations:
Judging by their descriptions, they aren't updated so often as usual public versions.
Do you think it's worth using them?
