Activation key always appears

Hi,



Our company has purchased ver. 9.10 of TestComplete. So I activated my license (Node-Locked) and finished it. But when i open the software again,it again asked me to activate my license key?! And when I activate it, it says i already had activated the key. Can someone help me with this?



However, one of my coworkers already used this software and the key so I'm thinking that the software only allows one activation.

    Hmm, so that's why the error always occur. I also noticed that if i start recording, the error keeps on appearing on every action I make. If I don't click OK (the only button in the error message), then the software won't record anymore.

    Not exactly. Alexei wanted to say that the Node-Locked license can be used only on the computer where the license key will be activated. So, if you have activated the key for TestComplete 9 on your computer, you should launch this product version without any issue on it. I suppose the problem is related to the fact that you activated the key for TestComplete 9, but you are starting TestComplete 8. Please check what TestComplete version is installed on your computer via Control Panel | Program | Programs and Features.

    i had the same promlem with an evaluation key. Just for you to under and reproduce ,,,



    System that is in use:

    HP 8440P incl. Win7 Professional - 32 Bit.



    Version a.



    + install Testcomplete version 9.10.1894.7

    + activate the licence online

    + first login > all is working fine

    + close the Testomplete application

    + restart the workstation

    + login to the domaine

    + start Testcomplete

    > a pop up appears that indicates that : "Unable to find licence" .....



    Version b.



    + install Testcomplete version 9.10.1894.7

    + activate the licence manually (A) with a new key

    + first login > all is working fine

    + performing the tutorial

    + close the Testomplete application

    + restart the workstation

    + login to the domaine

    + start Testcomplete



    > a pop up appears that indicates that : "Unable to find licence" .....

    + tried to activate again manually with the v2c file that was created at the (A) process



    > Again a pop up that indicates an error.



    This is not so fine. An evaluation is not possible under this circumstances.

    i got a new licence from Erik D. yesterday. I performed the following steps:



    + uninstall Test Complete

    + restart my notebook

    + login to the domain

    + install Test Complete (see 01...png)

    + prepared the activation of  the Test Complete licence


    • following the manual wizard

    • created the c2v file

    • created the v2c file


    + activated Test Complete

    + started Test Complete (see 02...png)

    > an information message appeared (see 03 / 04 .. png)

    + i confirmed the pop up and worked the whole day with Test Complete, created some tests and performed them. (see 05...png)

    + closing Test Complete

    + restarting Test Complete

    > works fine (see  06...png)

    + restart my notebook

    + login to the domain

    + start Test Complete

    > the pop of the missing licence appears. (see 07...png)





    Hoping this will help you a bit. Is there any option to gather some logfiles?

    Are you using a dynamic disc on your computer? Check this:


    1. Open the Control Panel  Administrative Tools | Computer Management window.


    2. Choose the Storage  Disc Management item.


    3. Check the Type of the disk on which the operating system is installed.


    If it's dynamic, contact our Support - they'll provide you with a fix to resolve the issue.


     


    If it's basic, refer to the My license is lost after rebooting. Why? FAQ article to learn more about what can be the reason for such behavior.
