GUI Test running in a loop how to break the loop for a specific case not matching criteria
Hi Folks, I am new to testing. Am running a sample GUI testcase with a login screen in which i am running a dataloop of 50 userids and passwords. I am not using any coding for this purpose. I recorded a testcase with correct login id and password and logging into the system and then logging out to end the case. For some userids, the passwords are set wrong deliberately. My requirement is to break the dataloop and go the next userid as soon as the incorrect password is entered and login button is pressed. What is happening currently is that once the incorrect password is entered and login button is pressed, the testcase waits for couple of minutes before marking the case as failed and then proceeds to the next item in the data loop. I want to match the error message displayed on the screen and skip the wait time and break the loop and proceed to the next id. Is it possible to do this without coding? Much appreciated, if someone can guide me.763Views0likes1CommentCan i copy an existing GUI test and create another test under the same project?
Can i copy an existing GUI test along with the visualizer contents and create another test under the same project? When i tried to create another blank test and copy the contents, only the execution steps are getting copied. Not the images in the visualizer.Solved1.5KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Creating a simple Web App Testcase in a laptop and running it in a desktop - different resolutions
Maybe the object mapping is also there along with co-ordinates. Clicks at point (60, 13) of the 'textboxId' object. So should i remove the co-ordinates and just keep object mapping?1.5KViews0likes1CommentCreating a simple Web App Testcase in a laptop and running it in a desktop - different resolutions
I created a simple web app testcase ( Open a URL, enter user id and password, enter the website, click the logout button) in my laptop and tested it from the same machine successfully. I had to loop it and run for multiple users. Then i moved the project to a different machine ( a desktop, which only had cpu and no monitor) and remotely executed the case from my laptop. It worked fine as long as my screen was active and available. But as soon as disconnected the remote connection, my rest of the cases started failing as no screen was available and the testcase was not able to find the user id and password fields in the login screen. Have you guys faced a similar situation? What i am understanding from my case is that as long as my monitor was available it was running and was able to locate the fields using the x,y co-ordinates and when my monitor was no longer available the desktop was trying to find the user id and password fields at the same co-ordinates in the default resolution of the desktop, which of course will not be at the same position and hence my cases failed. Any workaround for this scenario?1.5KViews0likes5CommentsData Driven Loop - How to break and proceed to next item in the data list - No coding involved
Hi, I have a data driven loop which has say User 1 and User 2 data. User 1 1. Step1 2. Step 2 3. Step 3 User 2 1. Step 1 2. Step 2 3.Step3 Now, the steps are to proceed sequentially and if anything breaks, then i want the loop to go to User 2 data and proceed. What setting s i have to modify this to occur? I do not want to do coding for this. Any settings change will take care of this?743Views0likes1CommentWhich Project to choose if the testcase involves Web application and a desktop application
Hi, My requirement is to create testcases where i have to validate the data on the screen ( web app) and the modified data in the desktop app, based on actions performed in the web app. In some cases, i have to match the data in the web app with that of the desktop app. Which project should i choose for my requirement and can my requirement be solved without involving any scripting.1.5KViews0likes2Comments
