As our issues are no longer related to Chrome 113, we've moved discussions around our current issue which occurs with TestComplete 15.51.x.y, regardless of the browser version, to this thread.

Re: The tested window (or control) has been delete... - SmartBear Community

TestComplete 15.50.3.7 x64 is working for us with Chrome 113.0.5672.127 (latest update to Chrome at the time of this post).

TestComplete 15.51.x.y is not working for us at all with any browser or browser version.

wanted to provide an update on recent developments. When I first opened up testcomplete this morning I got the notification that a new release/build was available so I downloaded and installed it. my web apps still did not work. At the suggestion of Alex Karras, I uninstalled testcomplete 15.51 and downloaded the install package for 15.49 and put it on my workstation. Now my web apps are working. My concern now is that, since I have also updated the testexecute apps on my VM’s to 15.51 will testcases I develop on my workstation with 15.49 be able to run? clearly something has changed about the newest releases of testcomplete that are causing this issue.  when is smartbear going to address it?

Thanks for the update...

Seeing same thing.  Am now running TestComplete 15.51.26.7... and with Chrome (113.0.5672.127).... still not working.  I even went and downloaded that version of TestComplete and did the Repair version of install.  Made no difference.  Something sure appears to not be right with the TC 15.51 version.

The 15.49 does still work on the 113.0.5672.127 version of Chrome.

I am still hesitant to uninstall TC 15.51 and install an older version... would really like to see a new version that works instead of going backwards (always makes me nervous Lol).

The most aggravating part is that SmartBear has been silent for a week or more, and it has been three weeks since this issue occurred, with no evidence of a new version addressing it.
Customers are visibly affected, and we are all paying a lot of money for this product and support!
It is extremely disappointing! Especially when we are due to for a renewal in a few months and about to give another huge bucket of money to SmartBear for a product that is currently not working!

@ChrisPerth @rpfaucher1 I am not sure exactly what issues you are encountering but I am assuming they are more specific and unique than what others were experiencing in this forum post.

When Chrome 113 was first released, TestComplete did not work with Chrome 133 at all. TC did not recognize anything in Chrome and it just looked like a big red box when viewed in Object Browser. Everything was broken for everybody. Is that what you are currently experiencing?

Our testing in Chrome is now working fine after a Chrome was updated recently.

You might consider starting a new post with the specific details of your issues because I think you issue is getting lost in this post.

@mfoster711@ChrisPerth and @rpfaucher1  there is another post that is following those of us that are still experiencing issues. @joe_brooks created the post entitled Re: The tested window (or control) has been delete... - SmartBear Community

after my chrome had been updated to its latest/greatest version and i tried to apply the most recent patch for TestComplete 15.51 that just came out earlier this week, my web apps are still getting the "tested window (or control) has been deleted" error when attempting to enter login credentials and click the submit button on the credentials form. and, just like you described, my object browser/object spy puts the "red box" around the entire browser page instead of individual elements on the page.

Does TestComplete work on any webpage for you? If you use this forum page as a test and with TestComplete, does it see the elements on the page? Here is what I see using Object Browser on this page:

If you only have two fields on a login screen and something isn't working with those fields, then I could see how you are only getting a big red box but that is not necessarily the same issue that started this forum post. When Chrome 113 originally was released, TestComplete did not work with Chrome 113 for anybody on any webpage. Here is what this forum page would look like in TestComplete when this issue originally occurred. It did not recognize any page element or any fields on the screen (I accomplished this by removing Chrome from my process filter).

I am just trying to clearly differentiate between "nothing works at all for anybody on any webpage" vs what you may be experiencing.

If you were able to enter anything in your app, then you are having a different issue than what the rest of us experienced related to this forum post. I was never able to recognize the page to be able to enter a userid / password and click a submit button.

Howdy... I'll play around with it some more... but for now, I have an app, and say the Login page, has Username, Password fields, then Submit and Cancel buttons.... invoke SPY and get just th big red rectangle around the page, and NOT the individual items, its as if the SmartBear Extension was not installed (for anyone that has seen that happen, this is pretty much what I see)... but, the extension is indeed installed.... I have even deleted it and re-installed it... its there.  But TestComplete is behaving like when its not there.  So, I have even tried on a different app... same behavior.  If I get a chance I can try and provide screen shots later.

Anyways, glad to hear it seems to working for others, but not yet for us.
