"Simplified WPF object tree" setting

Hi,

What are people's experiences using the "Simplified WPF object tree" setting for name mapping?  We are going to start some new projects soon and I'm considering trying that option to better deal with the tedious depth of hierarchy with WPF objects.

I understand that toggling it on an off will cause a lot of problems and is not advised.  Consequently, I'd like to hear from other that have used it before making a commitment. 

Does it work well?  Any downside/gottchas?
