Do we support Recording in Safari Browser using Test Complete for Mobile/Web?

 Do we support recording over Safari browser in Web Or Mobile using Test Complete.

If not then can we use/Run the scripts recorded using other browser in Safari ?

As we need to have mobile Automation on iOS devices and iOS prefers Safari browser. Please help.

      Ok. So you are saying Recording using Safari browser is not supported with Test Complete? OR Automation script execution on Safari browser is not supported in Test Complete.

      As our mobile Web application testing Priority is on iOS devices (may be real OR emulator) and browser Priority is Safari ( As its iOS devices). So if we cant(Or if Test Complete don't support) record directly using Safari Browser over Mobile in Test Complete then can we use scripts recorded from some other browsers on Safari browser over iOS devices ?

        Hi,

        You may create a Support ticket via the https://support.smartbear.com/message/?prod=TestComplete form to get an official reply.

        Unofficially, this is how I see it:

        -- In order to control application in iOS or Android, the application must be instrumented according to the documented procedure. Instrumentation is not possible for mobile browsers;

        -- SmartBear provides simple mobile-browsers that can be installed on iOS/Android and can be controlled by TestComplete. These browsers are not as functional as browsers like Safari/Chrome/etc. so you should check how your tested web application will run within SmartBear's mobile browser;

        -- It is not possible to change default Safari browser in iOS, so if some link is opened not from a browser, the link will be opened in default browser (i.e. in Safari);

        -- Tests that are created using cross-browser testing functionality of TestComplete, can be executed in supported real and Virtual Browsers (that also include Safari emulation).
