It was possible before TC had the wizards so, yes it is possible without it. 🙂
Let's see the code you are getting from the wizard and see about altering that.

Thanks Marsha_R. Sorry to take so long. I am struggling to accurately describe my error and I may have misunderstood "let's see the code from the Wizard". I should have mentioned that our application is a QT application. I put some screen shots in a document. I thought I could insert a word document as an attachment. Now I see I can't' I think I can use insert photo for a screen shot.
Latest test was that message box came up, but Testcomplete didn't see it, so I assume it timed out. So I changed the timeout value. (Adding the second column to field chooser). I had to redefine a test step, which puts me in the Wizard again and I had to use a checkpoint on the QText object of the MessageBox to get it's text. I am still not sure what your mean by "get the code"

I would like to see screenshots similar to the one you posted but I want to see the line that is generated by the Wizard and the contents of all the columns.

Test Errors. We ve a region checkpoint error and an Unable to find the object TextObject error. The real concern is the second error as we are willing to delete the region checkpoint, which in our testing has been dependent on which machine we run on.
This shows the picture of the region checkpoint on the operation called MessageBox1. But I think the failure is the size of the message. (I am not clear on where the operation name comes from. I used to think it was the object.
Here is the picture of the first error. On the region checkpoint.
Below is the picture for Unable to find object TextObject error.
”: The picture for the Unable to find the object TextObject shows the full window of our application and if you scroll down the message box is shown. So, it isn’t finding the TextObject even though it is on the screen. (The object not found is in the picture once you scroll and I am showing the scrolled part).
Here are the test steps referring to the region checkpoint and the property TextObject. I don't know how to interpret values. , I don’t know what the parameters, False, False, 3393, 17, are.
I can find the name mapping for the region checkpoint, but not for the TextObject operation (which is a search property?)
The name mapping for the region has two children listed, but the checkbox shows not required.
But I can't find a name mapping for the Unable to find object.
I can’t find object “Data Export Completed” object in name objects. Do the quotes require a different search.
