This is a very bad way of solving the problem of Edge AutoUpdates but the only thing that worked for me to prevent this beautiful browser to update itself. (Consider it only a temporary workaround until smartbear comes up with a fix)
So to everyone suffering from problems with edge and allowance to downgrade atleast a temporary workaround here:
1. Downgrade Edge Version following steps here: https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/deployedge/edge-learnmore-rollback
2. After downgrade directly rename (MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe under C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate) following steps here (only rename MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe):
