TestComplete 8.7 Beta is now open

Past, present, and future TestComplete users:



We'd like to invite you to participate in the open Beta program for TestComplete 8.7.

There are two big things in 8.7:


  • Support for Google Chrome browser (no Flex/Flash/Silverlight yet)

  • Support for testing WCF Web Services


This release also includes full support for Firefox 7 and 8, but those are available as a patch for TestComplete 8.6 as well.

Upon signing up, you will get a confirmation email with the download / installation instructions and a node-locked key for 30 days.

If you are already a customer and have floating licenses, you will be able to use your existing licenses to run TestComplete 8.7 Beta.

    First question:



    Can the 8.7 Beta version be installed and run on same machine as where TC 8.60 is installed?

    Hi Mathijs,



    It is impossible to install TestComplete 8.70 on a machine where version 8.60 is already installed without removing the later one. When installing, TestComplete 8.70 Beta will perform an update of the currently installed version of TestComplete 8.

    Hi David,



    What will happen in this case with the existing node-locked license for v8.6? Will it be left as it is, changed to v8.7 30-days trial, left unchanges like the floating one or something else?

    Hi Alex,



    If you install TestComplete 8.70 Beta on the machine where TestComplete 8.60 is installed, you do not need to activate a temporary license as your current license will be used.



    However, you may consider installing TestComplete 8.70 Beta on a separate machine for reviewing it and activating a temporary key on this machine.

    Most probably, I will follow your suggestion but would like to be on the safe side anyway. :)
