TC 9.31 Very slow recording

Hi

 

TC records very slow. I am trying to record a keyword test for web testing. Keystrokes especially are very slow.As soons as I pause recording the keys that I pressed will appear in the field. If I dont the recording cind of hangs. The cursor wont flash. And i leave it for a good 40 - 60 sec before I pause. Then it will complete the field. Playback of keyword tests are fine, and not slow. 

 

I am running Win 8.1 and using Firefox 19.02 and TC 9.31.

 

Task manager shows TC using 262MB memory and 48% memory in use in total by processes. I have a Dell I5 8GB RAM. 

 

Can someone please assist perhaps ?

    Hello,

     

    Judging by the product documentation, TestComplete 9.31 supports Windows 8 (v. 8.1 isn’t supported). This can be the reason of the issue you have. Is there a way you to downgrade to Windows 8?

     

    Also, please tell us more about your tested application - what kind of application are you testing (.NET, VCL, Web, etc.)? Please make sure that TestComplete does recognize your application as Open. Refer to the "Open Applications - Overview" ( http://smartbear.com/viewarticle/75611/ ) help topic for more information.

      The laptop was purchaced with Win 8.1. I dont know if I I can downgrade. 

       

      I am trying to record a web keyword test. The test must log in into our web portal and complete a form. I have alot of keyword tests already recorded that are basically the same . 

       

      The problem is that it used to record just fine and now recording is verly slow when entering details with keystrokes in log in field or any of the form fields.

        Check the Firefox version installed on your computer. I suspect that the browser automatically updated to the latest version, which isn’t supported by TestComplete 9.31.

        Did you use to record tests on this laptop?
