reduce object identification time taken by test complete

have been using Test complete since 1.5 yrs to test our client sites and use Vb script for scripting in test complete, recently our sites got enhanced, i.e sites earlier were made with Classic asp and now .NET is implemented in same sites. On testing on these sites , have found that Test Complete takes unsually long time for identification of each object on the page. how can we minimise or reduce this as its affecting the performance.
Lot of GUI features are implemented in the site. are these affecting the time . Test complete is taking long time in identification of each object in the screen.(using Native Web Object Property).
