I know it's got to be something I'm missing, but the recording toolbar no longer appears now that I am running TestComplete version 8 (on a Windows XP machine). I've looked into both the project settings, program settings, help file and cannot find where I enable it to be viewable.The Recording Toolbar does not appear at when when recording new projects/scripts. Any ideas why and/or how to restore it?Thanks!

Allen,That worked. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I apologize for my tone in that second reply but I was completly frustrated at that point and lost the entire day of work due to this issue. Please note that I experienced this issue immediatly upon a fresh installation of TC8 on a Windows XP machine, so I'm not sure why the toolbar would have been "out of bounds" or off screen from the very start, but at least I can now see the toolbar finally! :)Thanks again,Ryan

No problem - thanks for the fix!

Note that I was using a prevoisly created file from TC7 (and it was the first file I opened and recorded to) so maybe that might have had something to do with it as well?

It still goes missing from time to time (usually after closing TC completly and opening it again) but I just run your script and then it comes back :)

I, too, am experiencing the "disappearing recording toolbar" after upgrading from 7.52 to v8 on WindowsXP SP3

Hi Dave & Ryan,

Please send us detailed information about your systems. To collect it, follow the steps below:

1. Run the msinfo32 utility (Start Run...).

2. Save the information it collects to an *.NFO file (File | Save...).

3. Send me the file.

Hi,

I am trying the fix, but the instructions aren't clear. What should I record? Record Keyword Test or Record Script? Where do I paste the JScript? I need a bit of a walkthrough with this please. thanks.
