Performance hit when added to Team Foundation Server

Hello,



When we added our project to TFS source control, every of our interaction with the project is very slow.



It also applies to even typing scripts or editing action parameters. Every time we type a letter in the script editor, TestComplete hangs for 1 second.



Please help!

    What TestComplete version are you using? Try with TestComplete 9.20. If the problem still persists, it requires the detailed investigation. Could you please refer to our Support team for this?

    HI, I have noticed the same using also TestComplete Enterprise 9.20 (don't know if also happens with older versions).



    The script editor is completely unusable.

    Yes, also with TFS. 2010 in my case.



    I use Jscript.

    A colleague of mine is having the same issue.  The Script Editor is basically unusable because TestComplete hangs for around 1 second (and CPU usage spikes) every time he presses a key.  I've tried turning off Code Completion but that didn't help.



    The only real difference between his machine and mine is his culture is set to Chinese.  Would this make a difference?

    I figured out the issue for us...  Our project was added to Source Control using TestComplete v9.10, and my colleague had installed v9.20.  Having him uninstall v9.20 and reinstall v9.10 solved the problem.



    Anyone else having this issue may want to check their version numbers...

    Hi again,


     


    Could you please provide me with some additional information requested by the R&D team:


    1. Is your TestComplete project where the problem appears large (what is its size)?


    2. Does the problem persist if you temporary unbind the problematic project from your SCC?


    2. Create a new TestComplete project, temporary add it to your SCC and try typing some code. Does the issue persist?

    Hi Tanya,

    1 - It's small. 2-3MB.

    2 - No. The problem is solved working offline.

    3 - The issue is still there but in a much less noticeable way. If it's unbound from source control the problem is not noticeable at all.
