IE, Firefox and Chrome are supported while Opera and Safari are not (http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/11182/). AFAIR the explanations from Support, Opera and Safari does not provide access to their internals and thus can be tested as black-box (closed) applications only.
BTW, Firefox12 is supported by TestComplete8.7 but after installing the relevant patch (http://support.smartbear.com/downloads/testcomplete/firefox-patches/).
