Installing TestComplete/Execute on Windows 8

I have a machine that I have installed Windows 8 Release Preview on, and I am seeking to run our automation projects to get a feel for how our product will respond to the new operating system. When I attempt to install TestComplete or TestExecute (we are using version 8.50), I get this error related to the license manager:



Failed to install the Sentinel HASP License Manager. Error code:3. HASPDS_ERR_OS_NOT_SUPPORTED

/ Current operating system not supported /



Obviously it's clear that attempting to install on Windows 8 is the problem, but is there any way around this? I am able to see TestComplete/Execute installed on the machine, but without the license manager there is no way I can use them.

    If you want to try TestComplete 8.50 on Windows 8, please contact our Support Team to learn how this can be done.


    I also suggest you to try TestComplete 9. Although the current version of TestComplete does not provide support for Windows 8, you will be able to install and use it. Support for Windows 8 will be included in TestComplete 9 further versions after Windows 8 is released. You can download a TestComplete 9 free trial version from our site.


    Please note that TestComplete does not officially support Windows 8 for now, and therefore, we cannot guarantee that it will work without problems on this OS.
