    Hi Robert

     

    Thank you for pointing that out. I seldom make these types of mistake, I would not be surprised at all. So, I double checked. It is fine for a change! :) I guess I messed up while pasting the code.

DOH!  I see it.... should have noticed this before...

You are closing your dbObj... you call "dbObj.Close" on what looks to be line 25.  Well, when you close the object, you can't reference the values of the fields of the object.

Move the close AFTER your if logic and see if that corrects it.

    Hi Robert, I can't thank you enough!!!

     

    It is such a simple thing, but I did not even notice that!!  You are a true Master!! Simple things are harder to locate (in my opinion)!

    By the way, I really enjoyed the the TC 301 class you conducted. Haven't had the time to go through the material yet. Our Automation guy quit last July, I was trust into the position, never done automation before, neither JScript/Javascript! Learning on the job. I really appreciate your contribution to the community!

      Dude, most welcome. :)

      And this is not false modesty but there are folks here who can probably run circles around me in TestComplete when it comes to some of the more complicated coding methods and such and who can leverage some of the trickier little bits and pieces of the tool. So, while I show expertise and "mastery" in some stuff, to paraphrase Isaac Newton, I stand on the shoulders of giants.

      I'm glad you appreciated the 301.  That was a lot of fun for me as well.
