How to wait without a delay

Is there a way to wait for an object to appear, without using the delay function and just guessing the time? I found how to do it in a script, but I can't find a way to do it in a keyword test. I need a way to make testcomplete to wait "forever" untill something shows up on screen, specifically in a keyword test.
