DataGrid ItemRender ID keeps changing in flex application

I am attempting to do a caption validation within a data grid.running into problems with the validation because the DataGridItemRenderer ID keeps changing on me .Sometimes it will show up as a dynamic value every time.I tried to regularize the property values but it's a list box and  datagrid methods are not populating
