Considering product for evaluation

Could you be more specific with your question? Now it sound like 'I'm interested in knowing from the community about advantages and disadvantages of Mercedes car'. Do you expect a lot of really meaningful answers on such question? The things that are vital for somebody can easily be of absolutely no value for someone else.

I'm looking at a couple of products to determine which ones should be selected for evaluation. SmartBear's TestComplete is one of the products. Is anyone willing to share their experiences and advantages / disadvantages of using this product?

Evaluation without requirements is just a random guessing.

TestComplete is great for Windows platform and superseeds almost any product in almost any area. But these areas most probably are irrelevant for you. Also, due to its extremely wide functionality it might seem slightly overpriced comparing to other (free and open-source) products, but again, as you don't mention what are you going to use it for, I think that the more tool can do the better so you are not lacking some required functionality in the future.



TestComplete is free for evaluation, so the best bet is to try it and ask questions here if something does not work for you.

Note, that TestComplete has the best documentation I've ever seen and it's definitely worth *reading*.

Also, I would recommend to go through this section of the Support area (http://support.smartbear.com/screencasts/testcomplete/) and watch videos that are relevant to your needs.
