Can not open "Mapped Objects" and "Aliases" window at the same time

I'm running into the same issue another user seems to have had some years ago: Can not open "Mapped Objects" and "Aliases" window at the same time! | SmartBear Community

In the namemapping, I cannot have the aliases pane and the one for mapped objects open at the same time: Opening one closes the other! I tried resetting all windows, and the NameMapping tab specifically to their default docking to no avail ...

  • To fully reset TestComplete IDE customization I recommend you uninstall and make fresh install, do not go thru the upgrade path.

As the Mapped Objects and the Aliases child windows can be resized by dragging the divider you can end up with a full and zero size Windows, try to drag the divider to resize the window

  • (Clicking and dragging down the 'Aliases' bar, as suggested in mentioned topic, doesn't work as the bar doesn't respond to clicking and dragging. I tried that in above screen recording, but naturally the 'click and drag' action doesn't show there)

I've seen that happen a number of times during upgrade. To resolve, reset the docking via View -> Desktop -> Restore Default Docking.
