Actually, TestComplete can update the mapped criteria if the Tools | Options | Engines | Name Mapping | Update Name Mapping during test run options is enabled.

What do you mean by the parameter path? Does the path to the mapped object in the object tree change from run to run in your case?

 

 

If the path to the object is changed programmatically in your app, and you cannot control this process, I would suggest that you use Name Mapping's Extended Find feature. It can allow obtaining the object by missing several parent branches in the object tree. Refer to the "Using Extended Search Criteria for Mapped Object Identification" article for more information.
