SoapUI 5.6.0 UnsupportedClassVersionError on Windows 8.1

I have installed following version of Java.

java 15 2020-09-15
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 15+36-1562)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 15+36-1562, mixed mode, sharing)

When I've started SoapUI 5.6, I have got following error message:

java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/eviware/soapui/SoapUI has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 53.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0

  • Hi plaidshirt,

So the jre upgrade is causing problems for SoapUI v5.6.0.

What are you saying....are you asking for a workround with java 15/SoapUI v5.6.0 or are you saying something else?

If ita just a question of getting your SoapUI instance working, could you not just rollback your jre as readers of your post would infer the issue didnt occur before the jre upgrade??
