Welcome to Collaborator v12.0!
Collaborator 12.0 is the latest release from SmartBear Software’s dev collaboration team. This new version introduces support for Atlassian Crowd SSO and OpenJDK. Additionally, code owners from GitHub and GitLab can be automatically added to Collaborator reviews.
Atlassian Crowd Single Sign-On
Collaborator continues to build on its SSO support to make authentication easier for end users and improve security for organizations. With 12.0, Collaborator now offers native support for Atlassian Crowd.
Code owners for GitLab and GitHub
Both GitLab and GitHub have the ability for users to define a CODEOWNERS file within the repository. Collaborator can now look at that file and automatically assign review participants to a review, based on the code owners defined. This improvement helps ensure that the appropriate individuals know what files are being changed and can signoff via a peer review.
OpenJDK
With Collaborator 12.0, organizations can now utilize OpenJDK, the premier free and open source Java implementation. This change provides administrators greater flexibility when installing Collaborator, as they are no longer dependent on Oracle’s implementation.
Additional Notes:
- The Collaborator 12.0 Server requires Collaborator 12.0 Clients.
- Collaborator versions prior to 11.5.11502 would, in some scenarios, allow users to access Collaborator without consuming a floating license. The latest versions of Collaborator have addressed this. License Information
