As you may know, Hurricane Matthew has its sights set on South Florida. You may also know that some of our team live and work in South Florida. While we expect no disruption of service, it is possible that communication may be disrupted in the region over the next few days. As such, please note that normal support procedures will remain in place. Calls placed to the support line will be forwarded to appropriate team members. In the event that your call is not answered, please leave a message and a support case will automatically be created. As always, you can create a case with Customer Care here: http://support.smartbear.com/message/?prod=Alertsite. Thank You! Hi, At mid-day EDT today, a large-scale distributed denial of service attack (DDoS) against the Internet performance company Dyn led to outages at many popular internet sites. We have observed an increase in DNS and timeout errors across our customer base that is likely the result of the impacts of this attack – unusual DNS errors and timeouts on your monitors may be due to this attack. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide additional updates if necessary.1.7KViews0likes0CommentsImportant Firefox DejaClick Announcement
Mozilla has recently removed access to legacy Firefox extensions, which prevents DejaClick from being added to older versions of Firefox (such as version 52). Until a Firefox Quantum-compatible DejaClick extension is available, please choose from the following options: 1. Use our Chrome extension. For instructions, see here: https://support.smartbear.com/alertsite/docs/monitors/web/transaction/dejaclick-reference/chrome/quick-start.html. Note that monitors recorded in Chrome can be uploaded as either Chrome or Firefox monitors. 2. Install Firefox 44 and manually add DejaClick. For users who must have a version greater than 38, the most current version of Firefox that allows installation of unverified extensions is version 44. Once that version is installed, you can install DejaClick directly using this file: https://cdn.alertsite.com/dejaclick/xpi/dejaclick.xpi. For more information on manually installing extensions on older Firefox versions, see this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/11018771.6KViews1like0CommentsAlertSite Weather Notice

Hi, Here's an update on several initiatives. 1. All monitoringlocations have been upgraded to Firefox 52. 2. Allservers on the public monitoring locationshave been patched for theMeltdown vulnerability. 3. We have begun deployment of the first patch to address the Spectre vulnerability. This rollout will continue through next week. Once this is complete, there are two more patches coming. Thanks! Denis1.5KViews0likes0CommentsImportant Update on Spectre and Meltdown OS Vulnerabilities
Dear AlertSite Customer, You have probably heard about the serious vulnerabilities discovered in the core design of modern CPUs. Two specific vulnerabilities have been identified: Spectre and Meltdown. Current reports state that these vulnerabilities compromise the data isolation between the CPU and user applications, potentially allowing malware access to sensitive data. Nearly all Intel processors are impacted, regardless of the Operating System running on the machine. This means that the majority of laptops, desktops, and servers are all susceptible. At present, there are no known instances of anyone exploiting these vulnerabilities in the wild. What does this mean for AlertSite? As patches are being readied by OS vendors, our dev and ops teams are in the process of evaluating the potential performance impacts of these OS updates. Because the OS fixes place additional layers of isolation between the Operating System and user applications, there is a strong potential for some performance degradation. We will be evaluating the impact to our public monitoring nodes, our core SaaS platform, and our PrivateNodes. Once we have certified the patches with our application code, we will update all public nodes and the SaaS platform. Our approach to updating PrivateNodes may vary depending on the type and version of your private nodes (i.e, hardware InSite versus VM and the version number of each server). We will provide additional information as we learn more and begin updating the AlertSite infrastructure. If you have additional questions, please reach out to me or your customer success manager. Thank You!1.4KViews0likes0CommentsAlertSite Hurricane Florence Preparedness Statement
As you probably know, a major hurricane is set to strike North Carolina in the US Southeast. Be advised that the core AlertSite platform runs on a highly available cloud infrastructure featuring failover and disaster recovery capabilities. Furthermore, AlertSite monitoring locations function independently from the core platform and will continue monitoring and alerting in the event of a disruption to SaaS platform. In the case of Hurricane Florence specifically, it may be prudent to temporarily modify the primary location for monitors configured to use Charlotte, NC as primary.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsIs Zephyr Scale Down?
I started seeing an issue on Monday 13Feb2023 where every now and then Zephyr Scale goes down. The outage only lasts 10 minutes or so, and then I am able to access Zephyr Scale again. Is anyone else having this issue? SmartBear, is there a ticket that is tracking this issue? What is the status?543Views0likes1Comment
