Zephyr Squad BDD - Adding a scenario fails because 'Description' is required
Hi I just starting out using the BDD feature in Zephyr Squad but when I try to enter the a scenario I get a pop up error message saying: {"description":"Description is required"} I've read that a feature is a "Story" type issue and a scenario is a "test" type issue but in our project "Description" is set as a required field for both stories and tests, but I don't know how to show the description field to be able to populate it for the "scenario". Any help resolving this would be most greatly appreciated. TIA Kay Note : Description is displayed for the main story/featureSolved1.5KViews0likes5CommentsNeed to restrict access to delete test cycles and test executions
The documentation states that deleting test cycles and test executions is controlled by the "Edit Issues" permission. Is there a way to change this to the "Delete Issues" permission. Our projects already restrict the "Delete Issues" function to only project leads or administrators. We cannot restrict the "Edit Issues" permission on the project because it will disrupt the normal workflow for our project members. For instance, they would lose the ability to edit the description and other fields.178Views0likes0Commentsmultiple updates on bug by Zephyr for Jira - Test Management
hi team, can anybody explain what is going on here? we have a bug raised (#625) which is linked to multiple test cases and multiple test executions. for some reason, theZephyr for Jira - Test Management automated user/bot is doing some sort of housekeeping and repeatedly removes and re-adds links to the test case and test execution for no apparent reason. below are all the automated updates against this bug in just one day, but in the space of just over a month, there have been over 200 such updates. if there was zero net effect, i wouldn't be concerned, but it does seem that on occasion, additional test cases and executions are being linked that definitely are not being done manually! this is affecting the reliablity/trustworthiness of the jira data and our vendor is using this as an excuse to ignore the test cases/bugs in jira (!). has anyone seen anything like this before? thanks in advance Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM None >This issue links to "AMI5-307 (Web Link)" Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM None >This issue relates to AMI5-307 Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM This issue relates to AMI5-307 >None Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM This issue links to "AMI5-307 (Web Link)" >None Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM None >This issue links to "AMI5-318 (Web Link)" Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM None >This issue relates to AMI5-318 Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM This issue relates to AMI5-318 >None Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:45 AM This issue links to "AMI5-318 (Web Link)" >None Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:44 AM None >This issue links to "AMI5-318 (Web Link)" Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:44 AM None >This issue links to "AMI5-348 (Web Link)" Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:44 AM None >This issue relates to AMI5-348 Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:44 AM This issue relates to AMI5-348 >None Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:44 AM This issue links to "AMI5-348 (Web Link)" >None Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:44 AM None >This issue links to "AMI5-348 (Web Link)" Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theRemoteIssueLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:43 AM None >This issue links to "AMI5-318 (Web Link)" Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:43 AM None >This issue relates to AMI5-318 Zephyr for Jira - Test Management updated theLinkApril 18, 2023 at 10:43 AM This issue relates to AMI5-318 >None492Views0likes2CommentsIf squad suits a lot of projects
Hi all, I wonder if zephyr squad suits my goals. Could someone help to understand, please? precondition: - one jira instance with a lot of projects; - about 120 jira-users (active, inactive); goals: - some of these projects (about 5-10) should have test cases (Test issue type from zephyr); - about 15-30 users should have access to Test issues; - would be good to import cases from testlink (.xml); - would be good to integrate with Jenkins; - no need to have cross-projects shared cases (each project is unique); - no need to have cross-projects test reports;553Views0likes3CommentsInternal importer - Zephyr for Jira (Zephyr Squad) - Importing excel sheet fails
I am attempting to upload test cases from MS Excel into Jira by way of the internal importer tool for Zephyr, but it fails every time. My excel sheet is formatted correctly, I have 5 columns: Name Step Expected Outcome Test Data ExternalId For example, here is how my excel sheet is formatted : Name Step Expected Outcome Test Data ExternalId Case 1 Click the forgot password button The 'forgot password' modal is shown XXX-1027-1 Case 2 Click submit after completing all required fields in the change password modal An alert is shown that informs the user their password has been reset XXX-1027-2 These are the steps I take to attempt the import: In Jira, I locate the 'Test' menu entry and click to show the available options From the available options, I choose 'Importer' Once on the importer screen, I choose the appropriate project I choose a link type of 'tests' For the issue type, 'Test' is auto-populated (after choosing the project) For file type to upload, I choose 'Excel' I then choose the Excel file to upload I then click 'Retrieve Mapping' and then the Excel fields are populated below (as expected) In the Settings section, these are my settings: Discriminator: By ID Change (externalId) Import all sheets: true Starting row: 2 Sheet filter: .* Then I drag the corresponding Excel fields to their matching Zephyr fields Name > Name ExternalId > ExternalId Step > Step Result > Expected Outcome Test Data > Test Data Finally, I click 'Import' - there is a moment where the information is being processed and then I am shown the results of the import (which is always 'Failed') Status : Failed. File : REDACTED_edited_for_upload.xlsx Error : XXX-3163:Row:2: issueService could not create Test. XXX-3163:Row:3: issueService could not create Test. XXX-6288:Row:2: issueService could not create Test. XXX-6288:Row:3: issueService could not create Test. XXX-6288:Row:4: issueService could not create Test. XXX-6288:Row:5: issueService could not create Test. XXX-6288:Row:6: issueService could not create Test. The file has a total of 2 sheets, the first sheet has 2 tests and the second sheet has 5 tests. NOTE: There was one instance where the test status read 'Success', but the tests didn't actually get created and the importer-outcome-dialog showed the same 'issueService could not create Test.' - see the second screenshot The first screenshot shows the usual failed message I see. What am I doing wrong here? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.588Views0likes1CommentTest Executions section of a Test - changed to ASC vs DESC - Can this be adjusted in Settings?
Recently migrated to Cloud, Zephyr Squad, I have noticed the Test Executions section of a Test - changed to ASC Date vs previous format by Date DESC - Can this be adjusted in Settings? See attachment 2023-05-09_1-50-53.jpg313Views0likes0CommentsCould we see the test cycle UI on a BDD Feature story
I really like how you get a view into Test Executions when you are viewing a Test issue type like a BDD Scenario. Is there anyway to have a BDD Feature linked to a test cycle that then either displays on the UI of a progress bar or table of executions or at least any easy button to click to be taken to the cycle results?228Views0likes0Comments
