I didn't mention that I had the Window Applications popping up like was mentioned in the above resolution because I didn't connect the two issues! I am in fact on Windows 10, and disabling testing the Windows Applications has appeared to fix my issue. Again, thanks so much. This community always comes through. sihost.exe process crashed? Hi all- I am running my tests for general regression testing in suites of about 10 tests. Almost half the time I have at least one test failing because of the error "The sihost.exe process crashed." I have "Stop on Errors" turned off an so the tests continue and pass just fine, but I'm curious why this is happening? Has anyone else seen this? I ran some malware checks against my machine and nothing seems to come up. The sihost.exe appears to be the executable that is producing my shells for my application but I'm not 100% sure of that. SolvedRe: Windows showing as dlg and not a shell Perhaps I didn't explain my question well enough. I'm mostly wondering if other java automators have seen this problem. Dialogs don't allow you to do the same things a Shell allows you to do and I'm wondering if anyone else has randomly had their software change windows in this way. My name mapping is not compeltely messed up, I can just no longer customize NEW windows I want to use. They are all listed under "dlg" and are not identified as unique windows. All previous tests are functioning just fine. I mostly use keyword tests at this point in time because we were making it as simple as possible for a few select support people to create tests as needed. When we implement this regression suite into our automated release process, I will convert them all to script and use the framework suggestion. Re: Windows showing as dlg and not a shell What exactly do you mean by "create a framework"? Windows showing as dlg and not a shell I feel this is probably a problem from the java side of things (and/ or SWT) but I'm hoping someone can help me understand. I have a software written in java with lots of shells on shells. Recently, I've noticed a few of these shells have turned to dlg. This is making me very frustrated because all of my name mapping has changed and I can't customize certain aspects of the dialog because it won't recognize the caption anymore (for instance). It is also finding ambiguous windows because all of these windows are being recognized as the same "dlg". Does anyone know why this would be happening or what I can do to check the captions of these dialogs with property checkpoints and deal with them in name mapping now? I have attached a photo of how this looks in my test. The red box is around three different "OK" buttons in different dialogs on top of each other. Re: Screen Capture not accurate on connected screens to my laptop I think that will work! Thanks so much Screen Capture not accurate on connected screens to my laptop Hi all- I have been creating tests successfully using my laptop and a docking station. However, since an update to Windows 10, clean install of Windows 10, then a clean install of Windows 8 (different story for a different day...) my visualizer does not appear to be capturing the right areas of my screen. I will attach a photo. Most of my tests I've created since the described events have worked just fine with a few random exceptions. I am hoping someone can help me update setting or figure out what's up with this before it bites me in a future full suite run. Thanks in advance Solved'Do you want to work in shared mode?' asked every time I open project and then "Access is denied" We are working on a test suite as a company in separate offices. We have our suite on a VPN. Everytime I have opened Test Complete in the last two weeks it says "The project suite '___' is located on a network drive. Do you want to work with it in shared mode?" There is an option of "Remember the answer for this project suite and do not ask again." but it asks every time I open my project. It forces me to recreate a new folder to even look at the suite. Then, when the project is opening it tells me "Access is denied". I can clearly see I have access to the VPN and am using other files in this shared folder. No one else is experiencing this issue using this same project. Because of this, any changes I make cannot be saved. I can look at the tests and other people's results, but I can't do anything with our folder. I am the only one using Windows 10, although this was working the first week I was using Windows 10. Anyone have any ideas or seem something similar? SolvedRe: Can I Change Command-Line Argument? Yes. I never used quotes. I just put those there to show that I knew I needed to change "tested app" to the name of my actual tested app. Re: Can I Change Command-Line Argument? Yes that is precisely what I did. Sorry I didn't clarify that properly. That is the exact code I used.
