Re: Object map refresh
Thanks for that Tanya. My object is in a completely different branch of the object tree - that is to say, it's parent object is different at playback. I was thinking of using extended find, but that only helps for child objects, right? What technique works best when the parent object is different, please? Thanks again2.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: Object map refresh
Thanks for that, but unless I'm misunderstanding, that refreshes the name map, not the object map? I gave it a try, and the object map remains unchanged. I've used the Sys.Process("iexplore").Refresh() method, but it didn't seem to have any effect. Clicking Rfresh on the object map screen does the trick, but I can't reproduce this effect at run time2.2KViews0likes0CommentsObject map refresh
Hi everybody, I'm having a little trouble with testing a popup on a web-based system I'm testing. When recording the keyword test, the name and object maps were fine, but at playback, I'm getting an object does not exist message. If I manually refresh the object map, the popup I'm testing either reappears, or appears associated with a different parent object. Is there a way I can refresh the object map at runtime? This may fix my issue. I've been trying sys.process("iexplore").refresh, with no luck. Thanks!Solved6.4KViews0likes6CommentsTestcomplete with Ajax - popup recognition intermittent
I'm using Testcomplete 9.20 on a virtual machine, and I'm finding it often doesn't recognise popups created using Ajax. That is to say, dynamically. I will get an object not found error for a control in the popup, but it is the popup itself that is not found, not the control. I'm not sure if I should be wildcarding the popup name, and if so, which attribute to wildcard, or use extended search to make sure TC looks for the popup everywhere in the object heirachy. Thing is, the Ajax window is pretty near the top of the object heirachy anyway. The strange thing is, somtimes it will recognise the window, and sometimes not, and I can't see what is different between the two runs of the test suite. Any input gratefully received! I'm testing a web front end application, and have two instances of it deployed on two servers. I am recording keyword tests on one, which I would like to be able to run on the other. I can construct the tests to do this quite easily, by having different initial tests, each starting an instance of IE and navigate to a different URL. The issue I am having is tests recorded on one URL are not working on the other as I am getting the 'Object does not exist' when I try to use the click method for an on-screen control. I have name mapping turned on, and the screen object seems to have the same name when the keyword test is investigated. However, in object browser, the high level portion of the full object path is different. Is there an option in name mapping I am missing? Or am I approaching the issue in the wrong way? Any help gratefully received.12KViews0likes1Comment
