DDT plug-in may not be properly installed. How to re-install?
Guys, Few of tests I responsible for uses DDT driver. Unfortunately, when I try to execute them TC reports error: "Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed." Meanwhile Data-Driven Testing (ver 4.0) is present at Install Extension list and if I uncheck it - system stops to recognize DDT object. So the question is - how to re-install that plug-in? (TC 8.70, XPx86 sp3, tcDDTPlugin.pls file exists in proper folder) Any other ideas how to make it work? Thanks in advance, Alexey.21KViews0likes4CommentsRe: How to fix debugging?
Renaming VS7Debug folder haven't help. But I started to do all of these actions described at hinted article (http://support.smartbear.com/viewarticle/8874/) i. e. re-install Script Debugger, verified registry and after I re-register pdm.dll and restart VM - it started to work! (to say truth - I've also uninstall Visual Studio before, but it also haven't helped) Thanks a lot, Lexi! I would also recommend to make (if possible) mentioned article more relevant for site search because I failed to find it vie site search and google.884Views0likes0Comments- 889Views0likes0Comments
How to fix debugging?
Guys, For unknown reasons debug functionality stopped working, i.e. TC ignores toggled break points and Runner.Pause operator. List of things that I did to fix that: 0. Debug button is pressed! (and breakpoints are fully red) 1. I've reinstalled MS Script Debugger 2. I've checked Disable Script Debugging flags in IE (they are checked) 3. I've installed last TC 8.70 (instead of 8.60) 4. I DO have an administrative rights on that VM 5. VM was restarted at least once. But all of this haven't help. Any other ideas how to make it work? Guys and gals, I have one floating enterprise TC 8 license bought at March of 2011. Am I understand right that I have 1 year subscription on new (sub-)versions and customer support? And I can continue to use TC after it expires, right? What if I bought more licenses today - does that extend my support subscription on 1 year started from today? Hi Chad, I had had the same problem, but it appears after my "aggressive" delete operation over files placed to Source Control. I put project to SC, delete it, changed directory where it was stored on disc, put it again and so on... After all of these I got the situation when I have absolutely empty project's source control, and absolutely unable to put TC's project to it. System returned an error: "The SCC API provider reports: The file is not under the source code control." for each file that TC tried to commit to SC. (And it was NOT convenient to click Ok on each error message for each of >2k files that I have in project. И вообще - гвоздь надо вбить в голову тому QA, которые тестировал эту функциональность - совершенно невозможно пользоваться. Вы слышите, Юлия?) How I solve that issue: I created new project at TFS and placed TC project to it. (Initial project was deleted with tfsdeleteproject tool)834Views0likes0CommentsRe: Which port(s) TestComplete uses for communication with TestComplete8 service?
Unfortunately, you are wrong Allen. After investigation I found that TC establish communication via 135 port and start to scan ports in range 1024-5000 That indicates that it probably uses DCOM technology for communicating with TestComplete8 service. To make it clear - that technology used for "verification" and "Copy project to slave" operations And yes - it uses RDP protocol for executing scripts remotely. Allen, please contact with developers and confirm guess. If I was right - that information MUST be mentioned in help. Thanks in advance, Alexey P.S. Eventually, I'm still not able to use these features, but it could be not TC fault but our network restrictions - I'm still investigation this issue.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsWhich port(s) TestComplete uses for communication with TestComplete8 service?
Guys, Could you please hint which port(s) TestComplete IDE uses for communication with TestComplete8 service (istalled on slave machines)? Let me explain the situation: I have two VM - one on my PC and one at company's virtual center. Problem here that I'm able to "verify" host only one of them - that run at my PC. Attempt to verify host at company's vc results: "Server not started." error. I suspect that reason of that behavior in some network restrictions and (probably) closed ports. VM at virtual center belongs to another vlan. My cfg: Test Complete 8.5 Ent at Win7x64 Both slave machines - WinXP sp3 x32 I'm able to start TC or TestExecute on both slave machines (i.e. 1947 port is opened on both machines). Thanks in advance.11KViews0likes3CommentsUnable to let Automatic logon flag works - system throws timeout expired.
Hi, I'm unable to use Automatic logon feature for distributing testing- system always throws Verification failed (the timeout expired) At the same time if I open rd-session manually - verification passes successfully (remote test execution also works well) I did all recommended changes and checks (switched firewalls off and etc) described at help but nothing helps My cfg: Master PC: TC 8.5 Enterprise - Win7x64 Slave PC: TE 8.5 - WinXP sp3 (virtual PC played at Master PC) Have any ideas what can I do more to make it working? Thanks in advance.10KViews0likes1CommentDistributed testing on VM machines - screen resolution problem
Hi, I'm tried to setup distributed testing with using VM as slave machine and found that TC opens remote desktop session with very small screen resolution - 625x444 px. My tests can't work with such resolution because even Explorer overlaps target app :-) How can I define what resolution should use TC while connecting to slave? Full config: Master: Win7x64 Slave: WinXP (sp3)x32 - vm OR Win7x64 - hw (same result) TC - 7.50 Thanks in advance, Alexey.8.8KViews0likes2Comments
