Using 'Find' in a property with a value type 'Double'
I want to use the 'Find' function to find an object by a specific property named 'Latitude' whose value type is a 'Double'. Doubles are represented with commas in script. How can I make the call? Substituting the periods for commas does not work. Any suggestions? Cheers!29Views0likes2Comments- 172Views0likes0Comments
Maintenance of name mapping images
Hi there, I would like to ask around for suggestions about how to maintain the name mapping images. Our UI is quite complex and has hundreds/thousands of elements. The name mapping images are useful for consulting at the time of scripting autotests. However, we don't want to maintain an image database in our code, it's too big. I also prefer to integrate our TestComplete project in our codebase so that both our product and tests are synchronized. I was wondering, is there any way of regenerating the name mapping image database on command? How do you approach this problem?196Views0likes3CommentsAzure Pipelines - Self-hosted agent only performs test on active remote session
Hi there, I have a self-hosted agent running a pipeline which launches TestExecute and performs my automated tests. The PC running the agent does not have a screen attached. However, click and keyboard actions can only be performed when there is an active remote session on the agent computer. I understand that closing the remote session blocks the mouse and keyboard input. I was wondering how do users deal with this problem. Any suggestions?160Views0likes1CommentGranting license management permissions to other users?
Hi there, our team is using TestComplete. We have a limited number of seats, so we are stiffling each other frequently. The person with license management permissions is normally busy, my question is then is there a way of granting another user permissions to manage the floating license? To be specific, I want to kick out users that are occupying a floating license seat (because they leave the computer). Thanks!Solved166Views0likes2CommentsRe: Equivalent to WaitAliasChild in keyword tests?
I know about the timeout setting. In our case, the loading times span from 5 seconds to 10 minutes depending on the actions on the software, so ideally I would like to have a custom wait time for each action or each kind of action.323Views0likes1CommentEquivalent to WaitAliasChild in keyword tests?
As the title says, is there any operation equivalent to the `WaitAliasChild` function in TestComplete? The problem I am facing is the following: I am testing a WPF interactive application. While playing back tests, TestComplete does not hold on until UI elements are available to click/interact with them. `WaitAliasChild` allows to do this on script tests, but not on keyword tests. I am in the process of training our QA team and I wanted keyword tests to be the first step before diving into scripting. Any ideas? Hi there. Adding an object to the NameMapping attaches a snapshot of the object for a quick visual reference. However, in a lot of my snapshots, the TestComplete popup appears faded, in the process of being closed/opened. Example below: Is this the expected behavior? Is this snapshot used for object recognition or other TestComplete functionality? Cheers!201Views0likes1CommentLimitations of multithreading in TestComplete?
Hi there, I am wondering about the limitations of multithreading in TestComplete. As an example, I have a thread in my script test (Python) that presses keys every X seconds. The keys can change depending on the application state. This thread should be active indefinitely until the test has been completed. However, stopping the test prematurely seems to not terminate the thread execution and freezes the application. So here are my questions: 1) Can I add Log entries on a secondary thread? 2) Can I issue key presses on a secondary thread? 3) Can I access the NameMapping objects, to check if they exist for example? 4) How can I ensure the threads are not executing after stopping/completing a test? 5) What other limitations/options do I have? If you can point to me somewhere where I can find information regarding multithreading and TestComplete, I would be very grateful. Hirraghvani, thanks for answering. The link you posted about the trx format does not really explain its parts or how is it generated, which is what I wanted. I know that I can parse it and aggregate it, my question is if I can expand it with custom information. Keep in mind I am asking about TestExecute, which is the tool I am using with Azure Pipelines, not TestComplete. If TestExecute has more limited logging, that's fine, but I would like to know what can I already do with it.10 months agoPlace TestComplete QuestionsTestComplete Questions822Views0likes0Comments
