write test cases in Jira

Can we write test cases in Jira and use TestComplete for running the tests

Jira is an issue tracking and project management tool for teams. A test case looks like this in Jira

What I'm trying to do is : I need to write test cases in jira and may be: for example pass an execution id to testcomplete and execute the testcase in TestComplete according to the execution id which is passes from jira. Is there any way to communicate back to testcomplete from jira?

I just did a quick search on the internet, and found a video Integrating Test Automation and Test Management with Zephyr for Jira which describes what I think you want to do.

I saw the video.For this ,Do we need Jira plugin to be enabled in TestComplete?

I've only used Jira as a bug tracking tool a long time ago.

No. TestComplete integrates with Zephyr and Zephyr integrates with Jira.

So, the earlier case which I have mentioned, Is  it possible in TestComplete? Can we do that without using REST API?

Correct. Explicit use of REST API is not required.
