Zephyr Essential Missing Test Cases in Jira Project
I am experiencing an issue with Zephyr Essential in our Jira environment.
Issue Summary:
- All previously entered test cases in a specific Jira project are no longer visible.
- The Zephyr Essential panel, which previously appeared automatically in the test task card, is now missing.
- I can only access Zephyr Essential by selecting it manually from Settings → Zephyr Essential, after which I can add new test cases—but the older ones are still missing.
So I contacted the Zyphre support team, and they checked my issue. They changed the Zyphre version from Zyphre Essential (new) to Zyphre Squad (old). After switching to the older version, all the old test cases and their details automatically returned.
They confirmed that this is an issue, and it will take some time—they will update it soon.Here are the steps I followed to get the solution:
- Raised an issue ticket on the SmartBear website (selected Zyphre Essential).
- Raised an issue ticket in Jira as well.
- SmartBear support replies slowly, but the Jira support team responded quickly. They mentioned it’s not a Jira issue but a vendor issue.
– Important: Remember that the vendor sits inside Jira, and the billing also goes through Jira. So mention this clearly. - Once I told Jira this, they asked for the SmartBear ticket ID and then escalated the issue with the vendor.
- If you don’t get a response from Zyphre support, inform Jira support, and they will help escalate it.
– Jira does not give support to you if Zyphre is a local installation; it supports only cloud installations.
