TestComplete Name Mapping Merge/Replace

Good Day SmartBear Community,
I am consolidating my scattered TestComplete tests in one new Project Suite but would like to completely get rid of my current name mapping and import/merge with an outside/not-my-own name mapping file. Can I completely delete my name mapping in my project suite and bring in name mapping from elsewhere without having everything self-destruct? Thank you in advance for your time as it is much appreciated. Have a great rest of your day and weekend.

With Gratitude,

Toddyguitpicker

First of all, keep backup copies of all the name mapping files you are working with, just in case you want to revert.

If the name mapping file is coming from a test on the same application you are testing, then I wouldn't expect any self-destruct behavior.  Easiest thing to do is make a copy of your name mapping somewhere safe, remove it from your project, add the alternate name mapping into your project and let it run.  I would expect there to be a few stumbling blocks, but you can decide if they are manageable or too many to fix.
