Referring a funtion in the test item tree takes a lot of time

Opening the 'Select test'-Window takes a lot of time to popup. Is it possible to load the units first, then select a unit, and after that choose a funtion from that unit instead of loading all functions of all units in the project?

Hi Paulvinders,

What TestComplete version are you using? We have recently released TestComplete 10.30. I suggest that you check if your see the same behavior in the latest product version.

Hi Tanya,

we are using TC 11.0. We have a couple of hundred units with 10-20 function per unit, so the window from which we choose a function for the test item takes quite a lot of time...

Hi Vinders,

I would suggest that you update to the latest TestComplete version (v. 11.31 at the moment). Perhaps, the issue will disappear in it.

Hi,

installing a new version of TC will take time. And a 'perhaps it will work' is a little unsure to me...

You can't check it for me?

Hi,

we've installed TC/TE 12.3 and the problem still remains. Having a lot of sources with a lot of test-routines makes the dialog from which test-routines are chosen very slow...(> 1 minute for adding 1 new test is not ok)

Hi Evgeny,

thanks for the quick help on the Async-Problem!

I have another question (also as issue posted in the past by me):

Opening the 'Select test'-Window in TC11 takes a lot of time to popup. Is it possible to load the units first, then select a unit, and after that choose a function from that unit instead of loading all functions of all units in the project?

Maybe you’ve got an idea.

installing Testcomplete 14 the problem still is there. The 'Select Test'-window appears after minutes because of the many routines in our project. But only a few dozen are real Testing-routines, the rest are utility-routines. Is it possible to select only the real Testing-routines?
