Edge not recognized as Sys.Browser("edge") -> Process("MicrosoftEdge")
Hi there
I use TC 12.41.2879 on Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (10.0.16299 Build 16299).
Edge (41.16299.15.0) is not recognized as Sys.Browser(edge) but as Process("MicrosoftEdge").
I followed: https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/app-testing/web/general/preparing-browsers/edge.html
It happens with TC 32- and 64-bit. Edge responds extremly slow when TC is started. As soon as TC is closed Edge works just fine...
Any suggestions?
Thanx

Browser Edge was running with TestComplete 12.41 and the "old" Windows 10 Version. So yes, I did already everything to run browser Edge before.
Again: Is there anybody where browser Edge is running on Windows 10 Fall Creator Version?
I think I give up and go back to the old Windows 10 Version. PS: Docker in combination with Sophos is also not running stable.
I'm pretty much disappointed. Always problems with new versions...

Hi,
Just wondering if you reported this to Support (https://support.smartbear.com/message/?prod=TestComplete) ?
Any response?
P.S. I tried Edge with TC 12.42 and had no problem. However, I am not sure whether or not my Win10 was upgraded as I always delay updates until I am forced to update.

Mine at the moment are:
-- 1703 (build 15063.726) for Windows; and
-- 40.15063.674.0 (EdgeHTML 15.15063)
though I still have no idea whether or not this corresponds to the Fall Creators Update... 🙂

Nope, 1703 is not the Fall Creators Update. This is the Spring Update.
1703 -> March 2017 (Spring)
1709 -> September 2017 (Fall)
Now I understand why it runs on your infrastructure :-).

There is an Edge description add on (-> KB4051963) since yesterday: https://support.smartbear.com/testcomplete/docs/general-info/whats-new.html
but I can't test it anymore: we are switching back to an earlier Windows version today.

Hi Andy,
Are you still having problem with latest Edge ?
In my case initially TC v12.42 didn't work with Edge, but then I disabled the "Windows Store application" flag & since then it started working.
Interestingly even if I enable OR disable this flag, it always works now
cheers !

In cooperation with SmartBear the problem could be solved.
In all projects I use, I have process filters defined.
By any circumstances the filter has to be changed from Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge to MicrosoftEdge.
