- sdrukerContributorHi Tanya,
Few months ago, I also added a post asking for git integration (http://smartbear.com/forums/f74/t89050/testcomplete-integration-with-source-control/)
You gave me the same link with the visual studio, It Was not clear what should I need to do with it so I left it, and currently I'm doing the source control job manually , which is Inefficient way of working.
I see that I'm not the only one whos looking for this functionality in TC,
And I see more and more posts recently.
There seems to be necessary so you might consider adding it in your future versions - TanyaYatskovskaSmartBear Alumni (Retired)Hi Everybody,
TestComplete can work with any SCC that provides support for Microsoft SCC API. So, it is a question to GIT if they use this API. Perhaps, there is a special provider that can help you set the connection up. You can google it: https://www.google.com/search?q=Microsoft+SCC+API+Git
Sometimes, some of such providers appear to be unstable, so the only way to find out is to try. For example, you can try this provider, and see how it goes:http://www.pushok.com/software/git.html
We have the corresponding request in our DB to improve the support for GIT - I've increased its rating based on your requests.
- TanyaYatskovskaSmartBear Alumni (Retired)Hi Andy,
You need to install the provider that allows TestComplete and GIT to get connected.
I've heard that our users use GIT as an SCC for TestComplete projects. So, it's possible to set them up. You need to give it a try.
- TanyaYatskovskaSmartBear Alumni (Retired)Hi Sako,
TestComplete can work with any SCC which supports MS SCC API. To make TC work with GIT, you need to install the corresponding MSSCCI provider. I've googled this one:
Besides, I know that some of our customers are using a special tool that provides the UI interface to their projects stored in Git:
Hi Tanya,
I installed Visual Studio 2010 and then installed the cooresponding Git Source Control Provider you linked. Unfortunately, Git still does not appear on the Source Control list in TestComplete.
Any ideas on why this doesn't work?
Thanks!
Eric- dbrewerOccasional ContributorI actually just posted an issue about this http://smartbear.com/forums/f81/t92666/testcomplete-git-possible-integration/ and how it wasn't working.
Any ideas? - rubioaOccasional ContributorI don't get it, Tanya. The link you posted appears to be a Visual Studio plugin. What does VC have to do with testComplete?
Also, I know that I can use TortoiseGit (or Sourcetree or the command-line) and work with my TC scripts just fine .... but for me the question: how do I use git within TC?
My original question, with exciting screenshot, here: http://smartbear.com/forums/f81/t92830/how-do-i-set-up-testcomplete-to-use-git/ - rubioaOccasional ContributorThanks Tanya. So the answer is no...?
- mstreckerNew ContributorHi Tanya,
i also tried to get TestComplete working with Git. Therefore i installt the GitScc as told by you.
The result: nothing happened....
Could you please give me a shot advice/howTo or something similar to get it working? You said, you know somebody who already got it running....
