Use xlsm as a data source

Hi,

Is there a way to use excel files containing macro's 'xlsm' as a data source ? Or an alternative ?

Thanks in advance,

Sincerely, Frank

  • Hi AAB,

Thanks for the reply, that's what I thought.

The problem is the xlsm is a 'masterdata' file, linked to others files with loads of data.

I use VBA in the file to link files & filter the data I don't need.

However I resolved it by adding another vba script in the that copies all and paste value in a new file which I then can use as a datasource.

    Thanks again !

    Regards, Frank

    Hi Frank,

with macro's, I doubt that, but with excel yes. Nevertheless, you could use scripting?

    Kind regards,

    AAB
