CodeCollaborator 7.0 Beta Now Available

Greetings!


We are excited to let you know that the CodeCollaborator / PeerReview Complete v7.0 Beta Program officially launches this week!  This is an open beta registration program that is available to all customers. To join the beta sign up here: http://www2.smartbear.com/codecollab-beta.html.



What‘s New in 7.0 Beta?


Version 7.0 is a major release.  We are introducing substantial enhancements that support easier peer review including:


·         A completely updated user interface


·         Hierarchical (cascading) custom fields


·         Perforce Shelvesets support


·         Reject a Review


·         A new SOAP API


About the Open Beta Process


Each beta license will be valid for 30 days and will support an unlimited number of users.  Please contact your account manager should you need to extend your license to beyond 30 days.

    Not yet, but we are working on support for SVN 1.7 and will release it as soon as possible. I'll also go through the forums and update the SVN 1.7 threads, so you'll know when it's available.

    Are there particular versions of Subclipse / Subversive that work with the Eclipse client? I'm seeing java.lang.NullPointerException errors.

    If you will send a review dump file to support@smartbear.com, we will take a look at this for you.



    To create a debugging dump of the review:

    Open the review in question

    Go to the "System" link at the bottom of the page (depending on administrative settings, you may have to be an administrator to do this).



    In the "Server Backup/Debugging Dump" box at the top of the page, select the following settings:



    "Server Logs" => "Include Server Logs"

    "File Contents" => "Include all file content"

    "Which Data" => "Complete database dump"

    "Restrict to One Review" => "Only data from Review ID xxxx"



    Then click on the "Download Dump File" button.  Send us the resulting zip file.

    I don't think that this is getting to the Code Collaborator server at all. The failure is in Eclipse with Code Collaborator 7.0.713 plugin, with Subclipse 1.8.4 and Subversion JavaHL NL Adapter 1.7.2 installed.

    Is there a complete list of the new features that are expected to be included in 7x?  And can you give me a ballpark date of release for the final 7.0?

    Hi Kelly,



    We are preparing a "what's new" document for our 7.0 release.  That will be available at the same time that we announce 7.0 general availability.  As you may be aware, we do not announce specific dates until the release is actually available for download from our website.  However, we know many customers are looking forward to the new features in this release and would like to prepare for the upgrade, so what I can share is that we plan to have 7.0 available this calendar quarter.  Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

    I see that Peer Review Complete v7.0 is mentioned as well. Is there a separate installer for that then the CodeCollaborator 7.0 beta install?

    Is there any documentation for the new SOAP API?  That is a big reason we downloaded the 7.x beta, but I haven't been able to find any docs about the API.  Thanks!
